A coalition of arts organizations around the state has recently launched a non-partisan campaign called Arts in the California Governor’s Race. The goal of the campaign is to educate both the public and the 2010 gubernatorial candidates about the important roles of quality public education, non-profit public/private partnerships, and small business in ensuring a robust creative economy. Consisting of a steering committee, field activist, and a political consultant, the campaign is also working to establish a long term relationship between the arts and politics to ensure that the arts and arts education continues to be supported.
ARTS IN THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S RACE CAMPAIGN
WHO WE ARE
The Arts in the California Governor’s Race (ACGR) effort is a consortium of arts organizations, arts leaders, and concerned arts supporters who have joined together to strengthen the voice of the arts in the 2010 gubernatorial campaign. This is a NON-PARTISAN campaign that is working to inform both the public and the gubernatorial candidates about the important roles of quality public education, non-profit public/private partnerships, and small business in ensuring a robust creative economy.
In addition to our steering committee, we have also hired a field activist and a political consultant.
